Welcome to a Land of Sunshine, a nation with the reputation as the friendliest in Africa. Welcome to a haven that combines the charms of a tropical beach idyll with a fascinating historical heritage, rich cultural variety and some interesting wildlife in the national parks. Ghana formerly known as the Gold Coast, gained Independence from Britain in 1957; and is considered one of the more stable countries in West Africa since its transition to multi-party democracy in 1992. Gold, Cocoa and more recently Oil form the cornerstone of Ghana’s economy and have helped fuel an economic boom.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL – AKWAABA

Upon arrival in Accra, you will be welcomed, ushered through immigration and customs and transported in a private air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel in Accra.

DAY 2: ACCRA CITY TOUR

Experience the bustling city of Accra, which has a blend of modern buildings and old structures

constructed during the colonial times. This 120 years old city has an abundance of historical

landmarks including New Town, Ga Mashie and Jamestown areas.


  • Depart after breakfast for a city tour of Accra which will offer practical lessons in Pan Africanism and the African Struggle.


  • We will first visit a local school where you will interact with teachers and students. Give your donations and make new friends. (DONORS PLEASE SEE DONATION ITEM LIST)


  • Continue to visit W.E.B. Du Bois Centre for Pan Africanism; the final burial place and home of the prominent American Pan Africanist Dr. W.E.B. Du Bois, who led the Pan-African congress between 1919 and 1927. It is currently a Pan African Center for culture and it also has a research library and gallery full of manuscripts.


  • Continue to visit the Presidential Museum of Ghana located inside the Christiansborg Castle the former office and residence of the Head of States and Presidents of Ghana.  The Museum houses a varied collection of the achievements of various Ghanaians who have excelled in many disciplines both locally and internationally.  The new seat of Government is the Jubilee House and you will have the opportunity to drive past it.


  • After lunch visit Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Mausoleum; a Memorial and Third burial grounds for the First Head of State and President of independent Ghana. The Mausoleum site was an Old Polo grounds for the Europeans during the colonial period until 1957. This Mausoleum has been visited by many world dignitaries. Drive past the Independence Arch and the Black Star Square which is Ghana’s National ceremonial grounds.


  • Your last stop for the day is the Arts and Crafts market to view a varied collection of Ghanaian handicraft souvenirs. This offers you an opportunity to try out your bargaining skills on the local vendors and to “shop till you drop”.

DAY 3: ACCRA – KUMASI INTERACTION WITH LOCAL CHIEF

Depart Accra early morning for Kumasi in Ashanti Region; the Kingdom of Gold, History and Culture. Drive past several scenic villages and cocoa growing communities. Stop en-route to pay a courtesy call and interact with the Chief and people in a Ghanaian village. Immerse yourselves in authentic Ghanaian tradition and culture. Learn traditional court Etiquette. Witness libation pouring, drumming and dancing in which you are encouraged to participate. You will undergo a Traditional Welcome and Naming Ceremony according to Akan Traditions.


Continue to Kumasi. Drive past several charming towns and cocoa growing villages. Notice the change in vegetation form coastal savannah to forest belt area. Check-into your hotel

DAY 4: ASHANTI CRAFT VILLAGES AND KUMASI CITY TOUR

Manhiya Palace           Kente Weaving


Depart after breakfast to visit a few Ashanti craft villages to participate in using simple tools and traditional technology to produce breath taking artifacts and designs. Learn how to make these crafts from which you can send personalized souvenirs for friends and family back home. 


  • Visit Ahwiaa – the woodcarver’s village specializing in woodcarving such as the Ashanti stools, fertility dolls and walking sticks. Proceed to visit Ntonso – the traditional textile printing village, see Adinkra cloth and tie-and-dye processing and get a demonstration of how intricate designs are applied to this sacred mourning cloth. Adinkra cloth are designed by indigenous artist whose expertise lies in the textual printing using traditional symbols that express the spiritual, moral, political and socio- cultural philosophies of the Akan people and offers you an opportunity to create your own designs. Bonwire where the famous Kente cloth is handmade on looms, in a time-honored tradition passed down through generations.


  • After lunch go on a city tour of Kumasi visiting the Manhyia Palace Museum. The Manhyia Palace Museum was created within the old residence of Otumfuo Agyeman Prempeh I and Otumfuo Sir Osei Agyeman Prempeh II, the thirteenth and fourteenth Kings of Asante respectively. This historic building was rehabilitated in 1995 to serve as a Museum. National Cultural Centre and Prempeh II Museum. This museum displays artifacts relating to the Ashanti King Prempeh II, including the king's war attire, ceremonial clothing, jewellery, protective amulets, personal equipment for bathing and dining, furniture, royal insignia and some fine brass weights for weighing gold. Constructed to resemble an Ashanti chief's house, it has a courtyard in front and walls adorned with traditional carved symbols.


  • For the adventure lovers venture into the Kumasi Central Market – the largest open-air market in West Africa for shopping and interact with the Market Mummies and learn some bargaining process involved.


Return to Hotel. Rest of day is free to relax or explore Kumasi on your own.

DAY 5: KUMASI – MANSO SLAVE RIVER & CASTLE

  • Depart Kumasi to the Central Region. Drive through the forest and several farming villages. Notice the change in vegetation from forest belt to coastal shrub as you drive southwards across River Pra which marks the boundary between Ashanti and Central Regions of Ghana. Stop en-route at Assin Manso to visit the burial site of the remains of two ancestors exhumed from New York’s Wall Street & Kingston Jamaica and re-interred on Emancipation Day 1998. A third ancestor was also brought in by the Prime Minister of Barbados in November 2019 as part of the “YEAR OF RETURN” GHANA 2019.


  • Visit the DONKO NSUO (the Slave River), where the African captives were allowed to take their last bath in the waters of their native land. The European merchants branded their bodies for identification before they were marched to the Dungeons in Elmina and Cape Coast. 


  • Continue to Elmina.


  • After lunch visit Elmina Castle, the first and oldest European structure built of any substance on African soil. This was built by the Portuguese in1482 and later used as an auction market for a comprehensive guided tour. See the slave dungeons and condemned cells where slaves who attempted to escape were incarcerated. View its utterly distinct architecture.

DAY 6: BISA ABERWA & CAPE COAST CASTLE TOUR

  • Depart Elmina to visit the Bisa Abrewa Museum located at Nkotompo, near Effia-Nkwanta Hospital, Sekondi in the Western Region which is the brainchild of Kwaw Paintsil Ansah, one of Africa's most respected filmmaker which exists among other objectives, to provide an opportunity for the preservation and promotion of the Africa heritage; provide an institution for research into African history and “provide a platform for the conversation among people of African descent. On display at Bisa Abrewa is how the African humanity has survived. The specimens on display are about personalities whose sacrifices have shaped African history, both within the continent and the diaspora. They capture events within the slave dungeons in Africa, the toils of the Africans on the slave plantations and highlights of the Civil Rights Movement culminating in the election of the first African American as president of the United States of America. 


  • Return to Elmina and continue to Cape Coast to visit the Cape Coast Castle which was originally started by the Swedes in 1652. It served as the headquarters and seat of the British colonial government until 1877. Go on a comprehensive tour of the Castle, the slave dungeons where enslaved Africans were incarcerated, the West African Heritage Museum, and the negotiation hall where our ancestors were bargained for and sold. This UNESCO World Heritage Monument has been visited by several world personalities including US President Barack and Michelle Obama, Steve Harvey, Boris Kodjoe, Danny Glove

DAY 7: ELMINA – KAKUM PARK VISIT – ACCRA

Kakum Canopy Walkway


  • Depart to visit Kakum National Park, which has one of Africa’s famous rainforest canopy walkways. This canopy walkway will be one of the highlights of your time in Ghana. Prepare to take a deep breath as you walk the suspended bridge and marvel at the breathtaking views that stretch for miles across the rainforest.


  • Depart to Accra driving along the coast past several fishing villages and coconut lined beaches. Arrival and check in to your hotel.

Day 1: Thursday - Garden Court Sandton City, Johannesburg 

Johannesburg is one of Africa’s biggest and most vibrant cities. It is the economic capital of Africa and the gateway to Southern Africa. Although not as famous as other South African destinations, there is plenty to do in Johannesburg and nearby Pretoria. The old city is a multi-cultural mixture of traditional medicine shops, Chinese restaurants, taxi ranks and ultra-modern skyscrapers. There are excellent museums, art galleries and organised tours of historical and political interest. The shopping is Southern Africa’s best and the many restaurants cater for all tastes. The nearby township of Soweto is Johannesburg’s most popular tourist attraction.


Day Itinerary

Upon arrival in Johannesburg, you will clear customs. You will then be met and transferred to your hotel.

On this half day tour we take you to the top attractions Johannesburg has to offer. Some of the areas our tour visits are Hillbrow, Constitution Hill, Central Johannesburg, Braamfontein and Newtown. We start your introduction to Jozi with a good view of the impressive 269 metre Telkom Tower, as seen on many postcards of Johannesburg. We then enter the inspiring Constitution Hill – and Court (when not in session). Political activists like Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi were once held here. During a tour inside you will learn about some of the legal histories of Johannesburg.

Day 3: Saturday - Garden Court Sandton City, Johannesburg

Soweto is the largest township in South Africa with historical sites such as the Mandela House Museum, the house where Nelson Mandela lived from 1946 to 1962. Regina Mundi Catholic Church, which became a sanctuary for safe gathering. Baragwanath Hospital, the largest hospital in the Southern Hemisphere. Hector

Pieterson Memorial, Hector Pieterson (13 yrs. old) was one of the first students to be killed by South African police during the 1976 Student uprising. This uprising started on the 16th of June as a peaceful protest march organized by school students in Soweto. They marched against the system of Bantu Education in schools and against Afrikaans as a medium of instruction in all African schools. Soweto has become one of the leading Tourist destinations, with refreshing hangout spots, public parks, clubs and live jazz bands.

Continue to Northern Johannesburg to visit Lilieslief farm. The farm was used secretly by the African National Congress in the 1960’s and was the location where many prominent National Congress leaders were arrested, leading to the Rivonia Trial.

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Cape Town City Tour Half Day

On a clear day from the summit of Table Mountain you get spectacular views of the City, its Waterfront, Camps Bay, the majestic Hottentots Holland Mountains to the East and the mountains of the Cape Peninsula all the way down to Cape Point to the south.

The Table Mountain cableway, a must for all visitors to the Cape, boasts revolving floors, giving passengers a 360 degree view. After descending the mountain, you will depart on a tour of the “Mother City” taking in Signal Hill – where the Noon Day Gun is fired at midday, every day except Sunday – through the colourful Bo-Kaap or Cape Malay Quarter, past the Grand Parade, City Hall and the Castle of Good Hope and South African Cultural History Museum.


Cape Point Tour Half Day

Highlights of a trip down to Cape Point include; one of the world’s most spectacular drives, Hout Bay, Chapman’s Peak, Noordhoek Beach, the Cape Point Nature Reserve, two lighthouses on the tip of Africa, Boulders Penguin Colony, Simonstown and Kalk Bay.

From Cape Town a one hour drive out into the picturesque winelands visiting South Africa’s most famous wine regions – Paarl, Franschoek and Stellenbosch. French Huguenots. There are also many attractions you wouldn’t expect to find on a wine route, from butterflies to cheetahs and pretty much everything in between.

Although not as famous as other South African destinations, there is plenty to do in Johannesburg and nearby Pretoria. The old city is a multi-cultural mixture of traditional medicine shops, Chinese restaurants, taxi ranks and ultra-modern skyscrapers. There are excellent museums, art galleries and organised tours of historical and political interest. The shopping is Southern Africa’s best and the many restaurants cater for all tastes. The nearby township of Soweto is Johannesburg’s most popular tourist attraction.

Upon arrival in Johannesburg, you will clear customs. You will then be met and transferred to your hotel.

On this half day tour we take you to the top attractions Johannesburg has to offer. Some of the areas our tour visits are Hillbrow, Constitution Hill, Central Johannesburg, Braamfontein and Newtown. We start your introduction to Jozi with a good view of the impressive 269 metre Telkom Tower, as seen on many postcards of Johannesburg. We then enter the inspiring Constitution Hill – and Court (when not in session). Political activists like Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi were once held here. During a tour inside you will learn about some of the legal histories of Johannesburg.

Soweto is the largest township in South Africa with historical sites such as the Mandela House Museum, the house where Nelson Mandela lived from 1946 to 1962. Regina Mundi Catholic Church, which became a sanctuary for safe gathering. Baragwanath Hospital, the largest hospital in the Southern Hemisphere. Hector

Pieterson Memorial, Hector Pieterson (13 yrs. old) was one of the first students to be killed by South African police during the 1976 Student uprising. This uprising started on the 16th of June as a peaceful protest march organized by school students in Soweto. They marched against the system of Bantu Education in schools and against Afrikaans as a medium of instruction in all African schools. Soweto has become one of the leading Tourist destinations, with refreshing hangout spots, public parks, clubs and live jazz bands.

Continue to Northern Johannesburg to visit Lilieslief farm. The farm was used secretly by the African National Congress in the 1960’s and was the location where many prominent National Congress leaders were arrested, leading to the Rivonia Trial.

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Cape Town City Tour Half Day

On a clear day from the summit of Table Mountain you get spectacular views of the City, its Waterfront, Camps Bay, the majestic Hottentots Holland Mountains to the East and the mountains of the Cape Peninsula all the way down to Cape Point to the south.

The Table Mountain cableway, a must for all visitors to the Cape, boasts revolving floors, giving passengers a 360 degree view. After descending the mountain, you will depart on a tour of the “Mother City” taking in Signal Hill – where the Noon Day Gun is fired at midday, every day except Sunday – through the colourful Bo-Kaap or Cape Malay Quarter, past the Grand Parade, City Hall and the Castle of Good Hope and South African Cultural History Museum.


Cape Point Tour Half Day

Highlights of a trip down to Cape Point include; one of the world’s most spectacular drives, Hout Bay, Chapman’s Peak, Noordhoek Beach, the Cape Point Nature Reserve, two lighthouses on the tip of Africa, Boulders Penguin Colony, Simonstown and Kalk Bay.
